Richard Macdonald

ROCHESTER - Richard L. MacDonald, 81, of 47 Pray St., died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.He was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Hollis, Maine, son of the late Peter and Alfreda (Ingalls) MacDonald. Richard was a lifelong resident of Rochester, having attended Spaulding High School and being a longtime member of True Memorial Baptist Church. He proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Army. He worked as a computer programmer for Clarostat Company in Dover for 43 years. His hobbies included woodworking, golf, bowling and roller-skating with his wife, Shirley. Most of all, he enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.Members of his family include his wife of 55 years, Shirley (Glidden) MacDonald of Rochester; sons, Scott and wife, Tina MacDonald of Harwich, Mass., Brett and Crystalyn MacDonald of Rochester, Gary MacDonald of Milton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Ted and wife, Judi MacDonald of Merritt Island, Fla.; sister-in-law, Donna...
