Richard (Dick) Pearce Selleck, 91, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2018 from colon cancer at Colonial Hill Center in Rochester, NH with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Gayle Gibson Selleck. They shared 36 years of marriage.He was born in Quincy, MA on May 8, 1927. Dick was the son of Laurence Mather and Doris Pearce Selleck. He attended Milton High School, served in the US Navy at the end of WWII, attended Huntington Prep School and the University of Maine.Dick was an Underwriter/Executive Manager in the insurance industry covering New England for 20 years and spent 10 years as a Building Inspector for the city of Dover prior to retirement. He was an active member of the Jaycees and Brunswick Golf Club. Dick enjoyed baseball, golfing, sailing, the symphony orchestra and was a talented cartoonist. He'll be remembered for his sense of humor, love of history, passion for the ocean, appreciation of the arts and his love and dedication to his wife Gayle.He was predeceased by his brother, Laurence, II and his parents. Dick is survived by his daughters, Deborah and husband, Dennis Racine; Karen Selleck and partner, Roger Gagnon; Sandy and husband, Ron Pomeroy; Missy and husband, Rusty Bryant; his brother, David and wife, Dorothy Selleck; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by step-sons, Mark Chamberlain and partner Jill Stones; Craig Chamberlain; and step-daughter, Martha Chamberlain and partner, Bill LeBlanc. Dick had 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.The graveside service is being held on September 22 at 2 PM at Brownsville Cemetery in Brownsville, Windsor County, VT. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, 789 Central Avenue, Dover, NH 03820.
