Richard N. Peloquin

DOVER, NH. Richard N. Peloquin, 94, passed away peacefully and entered eternal life on October 19, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1930, in Cambridge, MA to Joseph and Margaret (Conroy) Peloquin. Richard was a graduate of Cambridge Ridge Latin and played semiprofessional hockey in the U.S. and Canada before joining the military. He was a proud disabled veteran of the United States Air force, where he served in the Korea War from 1951-1953, as a crew chief for the B25 plane. His military career took him to various parts of the world where he earned the Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for his bravery and leadership. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him. After returning home, he became a dedicated Cambridge, MA Police officer for over 22 years. He was known to the community for his passion towards the youth in the city and community outreach. He kept his promise to protect and serve the community by upholding the law, safeguarding lives and property, and respecting constitutional rights. But most of all he was a man of his word.

Richard was a member of the Arlington Masonic Temple in Arlington, MA as a Master Mason. He was recently recognized for his 55 years of commitment and dedication to his fraternity and in honor of his faithful service to Freemasonry in Massachusetts and to the craft.

In his retirement he loved traveling, volunteering and donating to his favorite charities. He loved horses and going to horse shows all over the Eastern states. He also loved his Dobermans K2, Kimpo, Taegue, Shamus and Kye, as well as hunting and fishing. He was an extremely generous man who always made time to listen. His curiosity about politics and business stayed with him throughout his life. His goal in later years was to stay alive long enough to vote for Trump two times! Richard was fiercely independent until the end and lived an extraordinary life. Richard is survived by his beloved wife Georgiana of 47 years, his children Joseph (predeceased), Leslee Magee (Michael), and loving “Papa” to his amazing grandson Michael Patrick Magee (SGT, U.S. Army). He will also be missed by many friends and family in the northeast. The family plans a private burial at the Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery in Boston, MA, in the honor garden section. This section is dedicated to those who served in the United States armed services, in recognition of their unselfish commitment to duty.
