Richard M. Smith Sr. Was born in Somerville Ma. on 05/01/1926. Richard passed away peacefully at his home of natural causes (old age) on January 22, 2021 at 11:50 pm, he was 94 years of age. The son of Alson C. Smith of Rutland Vt and Iva R. Holmes of Westford Vermont. Richard, in his retirement years, thoroughly enjoyed watching various construction projects being performed around the city of Rochester NH., and hanging out with his friends at Dunkin Donuts. Richard was a simple man in life, who enjoyed more than anything the company of his children, grandchildren and especilly his wife. Richard will always be remembered for his warm smile and his kindness to all creatures big and small, his willingness to help his neighbors and his gentle kind soul. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara Lorraine (Lord) Smith. Richard & Barbara were married on March 13th 1954 in Woburn Ma. Richard is also survived and lovingly remembered by his sons and their spouses /partners. David A. Lord and Peggy Lord of Jones Ports Maine, Timothy M. Smith & Gloria Soucey of Rochester NH, Kenneth W. Smith and Kimberly Smith of Billerica Ma, Douglas Smith and Nancy Lesure-Smith of New Durham NH, Richard M. Smith Jr. and Judi Smith of Rochester NH, Brian J. Smith and Marilyn Smith of Nashua NH, Gary E. Smith and Betsy Falker of Madbury NH. Richard additionally leaves behind 15 amazing Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Richard is predeceased by his sister and his two sons and two daughters, Betty Carr of Reading Ma, Stephen R. Smith of Woburn Ma, Donald G. Smith of Woburn Ma, Sherri Lynn (Smith) Baudanza of Lebanon Me, Deborah Jeanne Smith of Rochester NH. Richard also leaves behind in loving memory his Nephew Dennis Carr of Reading Ma. and his two Nieces Marilyn Gulla of Andover Ma. And Cynthia Carr of Andover Ma.
