Rochester- Rita G. Gagne, 67, of 14 Pray St died Tuesday September 17, 2013 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a yearlong battle with complications from cancer. Born August 11, 1946 in Claremont NH, she was the daughter of the late William and Harriett (Smith) Thompson. She graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont, NH and Pierce College in Concord, NH After 33 years in Arlington, MA, Rita and her husband Bill moved to Rochester in 2009 upon retirement to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Rita worked as a Medical Office Manager at Mass General Hospital, Symmes Hospital, and most recently Mount Auburn Hospital. She loved collecting dolls and was a member of the Madame Alexander Doll Club. Other hobbies included sewing, reading and collecting stamps. Members of her family include her husband of 38 years, Thomas "Bill" Gagne of East Rochester NH; 2 sisters Chrisetta Swick and Arlene Gaffney; son Christopher Gagne of Waltham MA; daughter Jennifer Jackson and her husband Andrew of Rochester; 2 step-daughters Caroline Marchant and Anne Gagne; 4 grandchildren- Noah and Conner Jackson, and Nicole and Billy Marchant; In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society Northeast Region 2 Commerce Drive Suite 110 Bedford, New Hampshire 03110 Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10am-12pm at the R.M.
