Robert Henry Berry November 24, 1940-February 5, 2012 Robert "Bob" Berry of Rochester, NH died on Sunday, February 5, 2012 in his home in Naples, FL. He was the son of Horace and Malvina Berry. Bob grew up in Rochester, NH. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1960. He was a standout athlete that led him to Brewster Academy where he earned the opportunity to play football and receive a degree from Southern Colorado State University. Following graduation from college, Bob married Elaine Colacino. Together, they started careers in education that led Bob to teach and coach at St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs, CO, Oyster Bay High School in NY and Spaulding High School. After coaching and mentoring hundreds of young people, Bob moved on to the University of New Hampshire where he was an Assistant Basketball Coach. In 1991, Bob moved to Florida (speed boat in tow) to set up his retirement life. In Naples, he worked at a marina and in Destination Managment Services. He taught at the Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology in Naples. Bob enjoyed fishing, boating and playing golf but none more than hanging with his friends at "Bob's Office" (picnic table) enjoying good conversation, a cheap cigar, good wine or a Silver Bullet. Morning trips with "his guys" to Starbucks were followed by haircuts that became his routine. He loved going to Red Sox Spring Training and annual trips to see the team play in Boston. Recently, he traveled to NY to watch his son coach basketball at Hunter College and enjoyed the holidays with his immediate family in South Florida. Bob was a member of the Elks Club where he was inducted into the Rochester Sports Hall of Fame. As a youngster, he was selected for the Sandlot Baseball team that played in Fenway Park and the annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl. Bob was awarded a plaque from his 1969-70 Red Raider basketball team that read, "We will never forget you or the things you taught us."
