Rochester- Robert Richard Blanchette, 79 of 50 Richardson Street died Saturday June 30, 2012 at the Rochester Manor. Born June 5, 1933 in Lawrence, MA. He was the son of the late Alcide E. and Eleanor (Petzold) Blanchette. Bob grew up in Lawrence MA and attended Central Catholic High School. He proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After he was honorably discharged he attended Merrimack College where he earned his Bachelors degree in business. Bob married his college sweetheart MaryAnn Bootman and moved to Rochester, NH. Bob worked as the Director of Retail Programs at Sweet Life in Northboro, MA and was a member of the Rochester Elks. Bob loved to golf, travel, go to the movies and the ocean. He was a great cook and was famous for his sauerbraten meals. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren and treasured the times together at cookouts and holiday parties Members of his family include his children Cindy Blanchette and husband Ted Duntley of Rochester and their children William and Michael Duntley, Denise Grimes and husband Phil of Rochester and their children Britta and Kevin, Bob Blanchette of Rochester and his children Marybeth, Robert, and Katherine Aly, her husband David Aly Jr. and a special great grandson Graham Blanchette Aly, his brother Ernest Blanchette and wife Gina of California along with many nieces, nephews cousins and friends He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years Mary Ann (Bootman) Blanchette, his sister Eleanor Fournier and brother Bud Blanchette. A wake will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10 AM at the St. Mary Church, Lowell Street, Rochester, NH with Fr. Dan Sinilbaldi as Celebrant. Burial will immediately follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Rochester, NH
