Rochester - Robert "Bob" W. Pettigrew, 66, of Rochester passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, March 24, 2012. An adored father, mentor, and friend, he was known for his infectious laugh, good-nature, and big heart. Bob was born to the late Charles S. and Etta (Butler) Pettigrew on January 17, 1946, in Lynn, MA. He graduated from Lynn English High School in 1963; soon after he enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served in the Vietnam War. He received an associate's degree in accounting from New Hampshire College in 1990, and in 1991, started working for the University of New Hampshire. He had recently retired after serving for 11 years as a financial consultant for the Student Activity Fee Committee, a job he described as "the best on campus." Family members include his children, Robert Pettigrew, and girlfriend, Elizabeth Solof, of Dover; Holly (Pettigrew) Furlone, husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Lily, of Plymouth; Heidi Pettigrew and partner, Paula Currie, of Campton, and Brian Worth of Massachusetts, whom he loved like a son. He is survived by his brother, Charles Pettigrew, of Maine; sister, Joanne Anderson, of Massachusetts; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Pettigrew. Bob was greatly loved by his family and all those who had the good fortune to know him. He especially enjoyed spending time with family, following New England sports, bowling and throwing darts, fishing, and keeping up with students and friends. Friends and family may visit Friday, March 30, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, in Rochester, NH. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the same location.
