Rochester - Robert R. Pomeroy, 83, passed away Monday December 5, 2011 at his home following a period of failing health. Born June 5, 1928 in Westfield, MA he was the son of the late Russell and Edna (Clark) Pomeroy. Mr. Pomeroy served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and reenlisted to serve a second time during the Korean War. Working in human services,he worked several years as a director for Kemmer Home for Children and Kings Daughters Childrens Home in the state of IL. Throughout his career he spent many years with the Boy Scouts of America. Starting in 1959 he worked at the district level and finally advancing to be Director of several national field programs. He retired from the BSA in 1987 and moved to NH where he worked at the Moore Center as a director of Case Management for adults with special needs. He retired again in 1993 and opened a rock and mineral store with his wife Mary in Goffstown NH. After several years of enjoying this shop and working closely with his local church he and his wife Mary moved to Rochester NH Members of his family include his wife of 63 Years Mary (Paluca) Pomeroy of Rochester, NH; his son Paul Pomeroy and wife Noami of TX; two granddaughters Mary Angela and Christina Lee and his brother Richard Pomeroy of Westfield, MA. He was predeceased by his son David Pomeroy and sister Helen Pais. Services will be held at the First Church Congregational at 63 S Main St Rochester NH on Monday 12th of Dec. at 2:00 PM
