Rodney Hooper

Rochester NH- Rodney E. Hooper, Sr. 73, of Rochester NH died Friday Sept. 28, 2012 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. He was born April 5, 1939 in Portsmouth the son of the late James and Ruby(Gannett) Hooper and has resided in this area most of his life. Mr. Hooper worked as head of maintenance for the Globe Shopping Mall and as a drill press operator at Thompson Center Arms. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding but especially loved spending time with his family. Members of his family include his wife of 36 years, Sylvia (Moore) Hooper, Rochester; son, Rodney E. Hooper, Jr., Lebanon, ME; daughters ,Christina Weimann and husband Karl, Vicki-Jo Cook and husband Thomas, Traci Carvalho and husband Marc all of Rochester NH; 10 grandchildren; brother, Joseph Hooper, Rochester; sisters, Virginia Portigue, and husband Herbert, Alton, NH, Diana Cormier and husband Bernard, and Patricia Rabidas and her companion Edward Greco, all of Rochester, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene J. Hooper. There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Wednesday Oct. 3, 2012 at 2:00PM in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH with Pastor Dan Huggard officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery Rochester following the service.
