Berwick,ME- Roger P.Cantin,65, passed away January 5,2016 at his home following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born November 25, 1950 in Rochester,NH he was the son of the late Real and Marie (Mondoux) Cantin. Roger worked as a Maintenance Man for General Electric in Somersworth for many years. In 1994 he built his dream home, a log cabin on Sunset Lane in Berwick,ME, where he planted a 600 plus apple and peach tree orchard. He owned and operated Pine View Orchard for 15 years before falling ill to Alzheimer's. He truly enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, fishing and vacations with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Melanie (Fortier) Cantin of Berwick, ME. His three sons Justin Cantin and wife Elizabeth of Berwick,ME; Jared Cantin and wife Leigh of North Hampton,NH; and Joshua Cantin and wife Cassandra of Rochester,NH. He leaves five adoring grandchildren Bryce and Brystol, Kinsley, CJ and Emily; two sisters Carol VonHor of Pearland, TX; and Linda Lemay of Rochester,NH. He also leaves behind two very special sister-in-laws Elaine Fortier of Rochester,NH and Aimee (Fortier) Nicely and her husband Conrod of Berwick, ME; and his mother-in-law Madeleine Fortier of Rochester,NH; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Friday, January 8, 2016 from 12-2pm at the R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Maine St. Rochester,NH. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
