Ronald J. Couture died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, after a long illness. He was surrounded by family and close friends. He was born April 17th, 1947, in Rochester NH to Raoul and Llyr (Bates) Couture. He grew up in Somersworth, attended Somersworth High School, and graduated from UNH earning a master's degree majoring in history, education and minoring in political science. Ron had a passion for Civil War & WWII History along with military aircraft. His favorite quote was "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story". This passion for history led him back to Somersworth High School as a history teacher for thirty- three years before retiring due to illness. In addition to Somersworth High School, he taught night school at Franklin Pierce College and finished his career teaching at Saint Elizabeth Seton School in Rochester.
