Obituary

Ronalee A. Goupil, 73, passed away on Thursday July 16th, 2026, after a brief period of failing health.

Initially from Pittsburgh, PA Ronalee was born on July 8, 1953, to Albert Brooks and Vivian (LeDonne)

Brooks.

In 1980, Ronalee married her beloved husband of 43 years, Louis Goupil of Gonic, NH. Their children

Matthew and Sarah completed their family.

Ronalee began her career in the medical field as a receptionist at Strafford Medical where she worked

for several years. She then took a position with Jay Gooze, MD a local eye doctor also as a receptionist.

Rona went back to school in 1997 to complete her Associates Degree to become a medical secretary,

continued to work for Jay Gooze, MD, and retired in 2001.

In 2023 Rona moved to the Residences at Silver Square, located in Dover, then to Dover Center for

Health and Rehabilitation for Hospice also in Dover, NH. She enjoyed endless cups of tea, crafting,

sewing, gardening, and keeping track of the New England Patriots and her hometown team the Pittsburg

Steelers. Rona particularly enjoyed visits from her grandsons, whom she affectionately referred to as her

Gremlins, and laughing at their wild antics. You could often find them playing card games at Silver

Square. Her kindness made her a staff and resident favorite. The family is grateful for the compassionate

care given to Rona these last few years.

Rona was a devoted wife, caring mother, and loyal friend. She was always willing to help others, teach a

skill, or share a recipe. Rona had a great sense of humor and a serious love of sewing. She enjoyed

watching her daughter’s dance classes, her son’s sporting events, and sewing clothing and quilts. In her

spare time Rona was most often found in her flower and vegetable gardens, preserving food for the

year, or in her sewing room. She was a member of the Cocheco Quilt Guild and won several awards for

her quilts. When she wasn’t sewing Rona was spending time with her husband up at the family woodlot

picking blueberries, watching the waves at the Nubble lighthouse with an ice cream, or catching up with

family.

Ronalee was predeceased by her husband Louis R. Goupil and leaves behind her son Matthew Goupil

and his wife Laura Goupil, daughter Sarah Howard and her husband Timothy Howard, grandchildren

Tyler Howard and Ellis Howard, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation hours will be Monday July 27, 2026, from 4pm- 6pm at Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 S. Main

Street, Rochester, NH 03867. A burial will take place Tuesday July 28, 2026, at 9am at Mount Calvary
