Russell Paul Jolin

October 28, 1947 — August 6, 2024

Russell Paul Jolin, 76, an Airforce Veteran from Rochester NH died on Tuesday, August 06, 2024 at the Hyder Family Hospice Unit in Dover NH after a long and painful struggle with Kidney Disease.   An active member of the Journey Church of Barrington NH, he leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Joanne Jolin (nee. Duprez) of Rochester NH and two adult sons and their families; Kevin & Melissa Jolin and grandchildren Alexandra, Conor, Autumn, Jacob, and Trever of Dover NH and Michael & Tara Jolin and grandchildren Mason, Jacob, and Abigail of Mont Vernon NH, along with Russell's surviving sister and brother Deborah and Richard Jolin of Florida. Russell was the second of five children born to Asbie and Florance Jolin (nee. Simard) of Woonsocket RI.  He attended and graduated from Woonsocket Senior High School class of 1965 and received an associate's degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell upon returning from military service.   Like his brothers Ronald (US Army), Richard (USAF) and son Kevin (USMC), Russell served his country as part of the United States Air Force in Portugal and Thailand as an avionics technician during Vietnam. During his life Russell served in numerous technical and project manager roles for Harris Electronics, Wang Laboratories, Sound & Media Technologies, Time Warner, Liberty Media, and DMX Music along with being the sole proprietor of Russ Jolin Sound until his ultimate retirement in 2017. Russell was a devoted and unwavering family man and husband, coaching soccer and refereeing when his boys were young and supporting both in their journey in Boy Scouts.  In retirement he could be found side-by-side with his wife Joanne at the Journey Church Food Bank stocking shelves and carting out groceries until his health declined.   He was a man of uncompromising ethics and integrity in business and in personal life and wasn't afraid to stand up for what he believed.  He tremendously enjoyed spending time with his numerous grandchildren and was always there to help and assist a neighbor in need, fix a kid's bicycle, or help patch a hole. Details on a memorial service at Journey Church and his eventual interment at the Boscawen NH State Veterans Cemetery will be provided by the family to those that desire to attend.
