ROCHESTER - Ruth L. Clough, 78, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 after a long fight with multiple myeloma.Ruth was born in Amherst, Mass., on June 27, 1931, the daughter of the late George and Cecilia Greene. She is survived by her younger sister, Lucille Scarborough. Educated in the Amherst school system, Ruth graduated from Amherst High School in 1950, and then attended business school in Springfield, Mass. In 1952, she joined the Navy, training and working as a dental technician. A year later, she met and married Leland U. Clough, a test pilot in the Air Force.Raising four children on military bases around the world, the family moved to Rochester in the mid 1960s, where she worked in the Rochester school system and at the Rochester Public Library for many years.
