Ruth M Harding

Barrington NH-Ruth M. Harding,77, of Pond Hill Rd. died Saturday May 11, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. Born April 20, 1936 in Exeter, NH she is the daughter of the late Alexander and Marion (Ineson) Johnson. Ruth was a life-long resident of Barrington. She attended Dover High School, Class of 1955. Her lifelong love of learning led her to earn an Associate's degree at the University of NH, and to continue on towards a degree in Fine Art. Ruth was a passionate nurturer of animals, flowers and especially people. Her home, always open to everyone, was a gathering place for family and friends, who were many and true. As an artist, she painted the flowers, animals and scenes she loved. All who knew her will remember her huge compassionate heart, her sense of humor, her passion for gardening, and her love of life. Members of her family include her husband Richard Harding, brother and sisters David Johnson, Grace Youngren, Althea Cemino, Marion(Dede) Hest, Faye McLean and Janice Lovely. Sons, David Ruel and Robert Ruel. Ruth has 7 loving grandchildren; Angela Girard, Deborah Finizia, Rachel Simon, Meredith Dourian, Benjamin Ruel, Izaak Ruel, Christopher Ruel and 6 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter Deborah Ruel, her brothers, Ernest Johnson and Richard Johnson. Flowers are accepted but donations may be made to the Barrington Community Food Pantry, Po Box 617, Barrington, NH, 03825. Calling hours will be held Wednesday May 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 16th at 2pm at the 1st Congregational Church of Barrington, Rt 9 in Barrington NH Burial will be in the Pine grove Cemetery in Barrington following the service.
