Somersworth - Ruth Hebert, 81, of 25 Morning Street died on December 10, 2010. Born November 13, 1929 in Somersworth, NH, she was the daughter of the late Richard D. and Marie Amelia (Fortier) Shea. She married Eugene Hebert on November 24, 1951 in Somersworth. Ruth graduated from Somerworth High School in 1947 where she was involved in many activities including Cheerleading and the Yearbook Staff among others. She worked for General Electric in Somersworth in the Accounts Payable Department for over 20 years spanning two separate periods. As a lifelong member of the congregation of Holy Trinity Church in Somersworth, she was very active as a volunteer for over three decades. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, including attending their softball and baseball games. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, gardening, watching sports such as the Red Sox and Patriots, and upon retirement, traveling with groups of friends all over the east coast of the US and Canada. Members of her family include her children: Brian Hebert of New York City, Dana Hebert and wife Natalie of Somersworth, and Beth Gallagher and companion Kevin Elwell of Somersworth; her siblings Gertrude Brunelle and husband Eugene of Somersworth, Barbara Young of Kennebunk, ME, and Richard Shea of Somersworth; her grandchildren Shea Gallagher and Jordan Hebert; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Hebert and her grandson Todd Hebert. There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11 AM in the chapel of the R.
