ROCHESTER - Ruth E. King, 97, of 90 Wakefield St., died Saturday Nov. 28, 2009 at the Gaffney Home in Rochester after a period of failing health.Born May 29, 1912 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Matilda A (Weeks) King.Ruth is a lifelong resident of Rochester. She was a graduate of Rochester High School, class of 1930, and also a graduate of McIntosh College. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Studley lumber and Palmer Supply Co for 20 years. She was a member of the Rochester Grange, state and national granges and True Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening.Members of her family include her sister, Elsie King of Rochester; her nephews, Walter R. King of Rochester and Robert F. King of Limestone Maine.She is predeceased by a sister, Arlene White; and a brother, Reginald W. King.Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the R.M.
