Rochester, NH- Ruth E. Sanborn, 89, 9 Fifth Street died Wednesday March 2, 2016 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover after a long illness. She was born July 26, 1926 in Westerville, OH the daughter of the late Leroy and Eleanor (Tanner) Whetnall. She has resided in Rochester since 1947 previously living in Milton, NH. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a waitress for Lum's in Somersworth and Bonanza in Rochester. She was past President of the Jaycees wives. Ruth loved animals. Members of her family include her husband of 69 years, Norman G Sanborn, Sr., Rochester; sons, Norman, Jr. and wife Debbe Sanborn, Robert and wife Anita Sanborn, all of Rochester; daughter, Ruthan and husband Ben Dagostino ,Exeter, NH; grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Dagostino, Staci Benjamin, Aaron Sanborn, Christina Joyce; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Palma Adjutant, Union, NH, nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit Sunday 1-3PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester, NH. The funeral service will follow at 3PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. James Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery at a later date.
