Sally Donovan Mandeville passed away on December 24, 2020 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH after declining health. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Marion Mansfield Donovan, and her brothers Richard and David Donovan. Sally resided in Rochester NH for the past 37 years with her husband Bruce. Sally was born in Boston Massachusetts on July 24, 1934. She graduated from Rockland High School (Massachusetts) in 1952. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis College and her Master of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire. Sally was a devoted high school English teacher who loved her students, and the feeling was mutual. Sally's teaching career began in Scituate MA and continued through Rensselaer NY, and Santa Rosa CA, finally settling in NH where she taught in many high schools including Somersworth, Alton, St Thomas Aquinas, and Nute High School. Sally retired from teaching in 1999. Sally loved to read and was a regular at Barnes and Noble bookstore. Her favorite pastimes included reading, cheering for the Boston Red Sox, watching PBS, and debating politics with her husband Bruce. She also enjoyed talking with her special friend Roberta Maxfield. Sally adored her beloved golden retrievers Angus, Legend, and Barnaby. Sally is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bruce Mandeville of Rochester NH, son Daniel James Brandon of El Sobrante CA, beloved stepson Kevin Mandeville and his wife Francine of Durham NH, and grandchildren Dylan Brandon, Michael Mandeville, and Kristen Mandeville. A Memorial service celebrating Sally's life will be held later in 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating a book to your local school
