Salvatore Parrino

LEE - Salvatore Parrino, 90, of 78 Lee Road, died Oct. 30, 2009, at the Hyder Family Hospice in Dover, N.H., after a brief illness.Born July 26, 1919, in the North End of Boston, he was the son of the late Giuseppi and Carmella (DeSanto) Parrino.Sal had lived in Lee for the past seven years, after moving from Alton, N.H., where he lived with his wife, Dorothy, as a resident of Eagles Rest Community. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he owned and operated his own auto repair garage in Charlestown, Mass., and later worked as a master plumber and pipe fitter for the Pipe Fitters Union Local 537. He was a member of the American Rifle Association, National Rifle Association, Pipe Fitters Union Local 537, and the American Legion in Alton. He enjoyed hunting, collecting guns, gardening, as well as doing carpentry and masonry work. Members of his family include his late wife, Dorothy (Hennessey) Parrino, married 61 years; sisters, the late Laura Lindborg of Charlestown, Mass., Angela Hunt of South Portland, Maine, and brother, the late Anthony Parrino, who was killed in World War II; his son, Richard J. Parrino and wife, Connie, of Whitefield, Maine, Diane Parrino and her husband, Richard Crampton of Northport, Maine, Patricia Hunt and her husband, Richard, of Lee, and Linda Flanigan and her husband, John, of Groton, Mass.; his grandchildren, Danielle Morais, Lisa Siriani and Aaron Flanigan; his great-grandchildren, Kristopher and Amber Siriani and Jessica Vedrani.There will be no services.Arrangements are under the direction of the R.M.
