Sharlene Dube Muhl

April 28, 1956 — October 24, 2022

Sharlene Dube Muhl April 28, 1956 - October 24, 2022 Sharlene "Sharl" Dube Muhl, 66, from Milton, NH died on Monday, October 24th at Catholic Medical Center after a period of failing health. She was born on April 28, 1956 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, the eighth of nine children. She grew up in Milton and graduated from Nute High School in 1974. Sharlene worked at The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as an Administrative Officer from 1982 to 1999. She also worked at JC Penney in Rochester for several years where she enjoyed meeting people and helping customers. Sharlene had a love of cooking and enrolled in the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program at the Atlantic Culinary Academy at McIntosh College, where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts in 2003. Sharlene lived in Rochester and Dover while raising her daughter Julie and son Derek. Following the death of her husband in 1998, she moved back to Milton and spent the remainder of her life in the town she grew up in. She enjoyed music and cooking, and loved inviting family and friends to cookouts at her home. Her life became centered around family and friends, and she was able to reconnect with several friends she had not seen in years. This was of great comfort to her, as she had endured several major tragedies in her life, including the unexpected loss of her beloved husband Art in 1998, followed by the tragic loss of her son Derek in 2013. Sharlene was predeceased by her husband Arthur Muhl, her son Derek McAtavey, her father Lionel Dube Sr., and her mother Violet (Allard) Dube. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Upton Hayes of Rochester, ex-son in law Tom Hayes of Wakefield, and grandson Dakota Hayes of Manchester, along with eight brothers and sisters: Joe Dube and wife Shirley, Claire Randlett, Lionel (Chum) Dube Jr., Dennis Dube and wife Cindy, Susan Beadle and husband Donald, David Dube and wife Wendy, her twin sister Darlene Dube and husband Russell Kay, and Faith Bowen and husband Ted. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her best friend Susie Gregoire. At her family's request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Her life will be honored through a "Celebration of Life" at the American Legion on Eastern Avenue in Rochester on Sunday, November 13 from 2-6 PM.
