Shirley Horne

ROCHESTER - Shirley Horne, 76, of 130 Tebbetts Road, died Sept. 9, 2009, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover after a long illness.Born June 27, 1933, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Valea (Gagne) Horne.Mrs. Horne was a lifelong resident of Rochester and a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1951. She was employed as a phone operator for New England Telephone until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her granddaughter.Members of her family include her husband of 55 years, Dwight Horne Sr. of Rochester; her sons, Dwight L. Horne Jr. of Rochester and Thomas W. Horne and his wife, Lisa Marie, of Farmington; a granddaughter, Erica R. Horne of Farmington; her sisters, Beatrice LaBrecque, Barbara Hatch and Lorraine Turgeon, all of Rochester. She was predeceased by her brother, Ernest E. Horne and her sisters, Violet Dwyer, Edith George and Florence Smith.There will be no funeral services.Burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery at a later...
