Shirley M. Leslie, 87, of Rochester, N.H., passed away on May 3, 2011, after a brief period of failing health, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover where she was lovingly cared for. Shirley was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Rochester, N.H., the daughter of the late Rolfe E. and Mildred A. (Sanborn) Richardson. She was a 1941 graduate of Spaulding High School and a 1945 graduate of Friends University in Wichita, KS. Shirley was the leader of the ODAKO 4-H Club in Dover, N.H., where she opened her home to children on Tolend Road for many years. More recently Shirley became "Facebook friends" with her 4-H "kids" and others who loved her dearly. Shirley was an avid gardener who loved her flowers. She also enjoyed camping in the White Mountains, genealogy, crafts, and playing games with friends and family.
