Thomas F. Carroll, 87, surrounded by his family, died of cancer, March 10th, 2012. He was born May 24, 1924 in Manchester, NH, son of Thomas F. and Mary (Regan) Carroll. During the Second World War he served in the U. S. Marine Corps, became a sergeant and was stationed in the Marshall Islands. He was discharged in 1946 and then married in 1947 to his late wife, Irene M. (Duguay) Carroll, who died in 1978. He received a B.S. in accounting from Boston University in 1949. Tom was a Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department until his retirement in 1977. In 1982 he married his second wife, the late Rosemarie (Sheehan) Carroll who died in 2011. He was an avid sailor and former member of the Portsmouth Yacht club, and a member of the Elks Club. His easy going nature and the quick wit he possessed, even in his final days, will be missed.
