Kaczynski, Thomas Sanbornville, NH- Thomas Leon Kaczynski, 79, of 1191 Lowell Lake road died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Born February 15, 1930 in New Haven, CT. He was the son of the late Julius and Ethel (Karbowski) Kaczynski. Tom was a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut Agriculture program, and member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the 1st Calvary Division of the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. Tom was affectionately known as the "Chicken Man". He inherited the Hamilton Street chicken market from his father, and worked hard all of his life to grow this business from a retail market to a large poultry transport operation - the largest in New England. In retirement, he enjoyed spending more time with his family, especially his grandchildren. To all who knew him, Tom was a generous and loving husband, father and grandfather. Members of his family include his wife of 55 years Phyllis C. (Marchesseault) Kaczynski of Sanbornville, NH. His children Thomas L. Kaczynski, JR. and wife Deborah of Rochester, Michael G. Kaczynski and wife Christine of New Haven, CT, Nancy Shankar and husband Pradheep of Cheshire, CT, Karen Esslinger and husband James of Watertown, CT, and Julie Baars Kaczynski and husband Freddy Baars of Natick, MA. His sister Jean Stanek and husband William of Vernon, CT. His grandchildren; Nilani and Dehan Shanker, Michael and Marci Kaczynski, Nathaniel Cyrus, Sarah Kaczynski, and Alexander & Eva Baars. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Kaczynski. A wake will be held Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 6 PM to 9 PM at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11 AM at the St. Anthony's Church, Main Street, Sanbornville, NH 03872. Burial will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 1:30 PM in the All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the St. Anthony's Church, PO Box 490, Sanbornville, NH 03872
