Rochester - Thomas J. McDonald, 80, passed away Friday May 3, 2013 at the Rochester Manor following a brief illness. Born August 22, 1932 in Beverly, MA he was the son of the late Thomas and Rita (Sullivan) McDonald. Mr. McDonald served in the US Army. He later worked as a welding and paint inspector for Casco Bay Steel. Tom was a member of the American Welding Society and the Civil War Preservation Trust, he was a former Scout Master with the Boy Scouts in Beverly, MA; and an amateur Civil War Historian. Members of his family include his children Thomas McDonald and wife Karen of Concord, NH; and Reita Hammonds and husband Bill of Danville, OH; four grandchildren Jennifer Grubaugh and Scott Pearce both of Mt. Vernon, OH; and Caroline and Rachel McDonald of Concord, NH; two brothers Paul and John McDonald both of Beverly, MA; several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Margarete (Schmitt) McDonald. Family and friends may visit Wednesday May 8, 2013 from 12PM to 2PM at the R.M....
