Dover – Valerie Whitehouse, 93, passed away Thursday June 18, 2026, at the Dover Center for Health and Rehabilitation following a period of failing health.

Born January 16, 1933, in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late James and Valerie (Morrison) Dickson.

Valerie had worked as a waitress and hostess at Cardinals Restaurant in Rochester for many years. She enjoyed needle point, puzzles, playing scrabble, snowmobiling, swimming at the Dover Pool where she met Olympic Swimmer Jenny Thompson, and she loved to make people laugh.

Members of her family include her children Eugene Whitehouse, Jr. and wife Michelle of Hampton Falls, NH; Donald Whitehouse of Rochester, NH; Mark Whitehouse and wife Debra of Milton, NH; and Kelly Whitehouse of TX; her sister Karen Hoffman and husband Lee of NV; many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Robin Whitehouse, her son Ralph Whitehouse, and two brothers James and Donald Dickson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 18, 2026, at 12:30 PM at the R.M. Edgerly Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH.
