Vera Atkins

Gonic, NH-Vera Atkins,89, of 2 Church St., died Monday October 22, 2012 at the Rosewood Manor in Gonic, NH. Born November 23, 1922 in Raymond, NH, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Lord) Dustin Vera lived in Rochester most of her life. She was employed at Jefferson Printing Company but spent most her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, dancing, taking walks, traveling and camping with her late husband Vernon Atkins who died in 2004. Members of her family include her son, James Atkins and his wife Leslie of Moore, SC, her daughter, Judy Smith and her husband Greg of Rochester, NH; her grandchildren Kimberly Belmonte, of Tampa, Fl, Matthew Atkins and his wife Marlene of Mason, OH, Benjamin Stevens and his wife Erin of Rochester NH and Christina Rapoza and her husband Mark of New Durham, NH; her great grandchildren Emily Belmonte, Elizabeth Atkins, Christopher Atkins, Brayden Rapoza, and Kylie Rapoza; and a sister-in-law Mary Trafton of Milton. The family would like to thank Gail Ellis and the staff of Rosewood Manor for the wonderful care they have given Vera throughout her stay at Rosewood Manor. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 3pm at Bethany United Methodist Church in East Rochester.
