Virginia Irene Hebert

June 13, 1931 — February 13, 2022

Norwich, CT- Virginia "Ginny" Irene (Savory) Hebert, 90, died February 13, 2022, at Backus Hospital with family at her side after a very brief illness. She was born on June 13, 1931 in Lynn, Mass to Earl & Doris (Connell) Savory. She was a graduate of Spaulding High School & worked for a time at the Rochester Shoe Factory. She was married to Richard "Dick" Hebert for 60 years.  In their early years, they enjoyed roller skating & summers at Lake Winnipesaukee.  They later moved to Connecticut where they committed their lives to raising to 3 boys, whom they loved dearly.  Ginny was ever supportive of their interests & dreams, always sharing the importance of family.  Most people knew her as a very kind, compassionate, and ever generous neighbor, friend, confidante, and "Mom" to many. She enjoyed & shared many years as a loving wife, Mom, and homemaker, and volunteered for years as a Cub Scout Den Mother/Den Leader Coach, active Boy Scout committee member, supporter of the Bingo Committee & other events at Dad's American Legion Post, and in various other roles. She was also a devoted parishioner of St Joseph Church in Occum, CT. Late in life she developed Alzheimer's, and became pleasantly confused, perhaps being spared the pain of losing Dad unexpectedly in 2019. She is survived by her sons, Scott Hebert, of Norwich; Gary Hebert, of Groton; her step-sister Linda Rutter, and step-niece Rebecca Rutter-Sanborn, both of Derry, NH; as well as numerous in-laws, extended family, and friends. Ginny is also survived by her new best friend, soulmate, and caregiver, Khanya "Kay" Goldsborough, who joined our family shortly after Dad's passing.  We are forever grateful for the love, compassion, kindness, and support she shared with all of us during a very difficult time while caring for Ginny. We are also very grateful to Rob Clark for his kindness, help, and support in caring for Mom for many years. She was predeceased by her husband "Dick" and her youngest son Dennis, of Glenwood, California. Calling hours in CT are February 23rd, Wednesday 5-6:30pm at Guillot Funeral Home, 75 South B Street, Taftville, CT. In NH, calling hours are at R.M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St, Rochester on Friday 2/25/2022 at 10:00 AM and a Funeral Mass at Holy Rosary Church to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Alzheimers Association of CT www/alz.org/ct
