ROCHESTER - Virginia May Gertrude Holton, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at her home following a period of failing health.Born Nov. 13, 1930, in Highgate Center, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sadie (Raymond) Lothian.Ms. Holton attended Highgate High School in Vermont. Upon moving to Rochester from Salem, she began her career at Frisbie Memorial Hospital volunteering and became a medical transcriptionist at Frisbie for 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester, and was also a member of AARP. Lovingly referred to as "Ginny" by all, she was an avid duplicate bridge player.Members of her family include her two sons, John W. Holton III of Memphis, Ind., and David A. Holton and his wife, Mary, of Barrington; four grandchildren, Jessica Rand of Berwick, Maine, David John of Barrington, and Elizabeth and Megan of Indiana.
