Virginia "Ginny" Sarah (Ford) Pearson, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on May 31, 2013. Virginia, daughter of Chester and Vera (Franklin) Ford was born in Chicago, Illinois. She lived in Bowling Green, Russellville and Louisville, Kentucky. After marrying Charles "Charlie" Pearson, she moved to South Lebanon, Maine and then to East Rochester, New Hampshire, residing for over 50 years. She graduated from Ahrens Trade High School in 1941 and went to work at the Army Quartermaster Depot in Louisville, KY, where she met Charles (Army Air Corps and Pearl Harbor survivor). As her children grew, she worked as a nursing assistant and then at 39 decided to further her education by attending the Exeter School of Nursing. While there, she obtained her LPN certificate and had 6 months training at the Concord State Hospital School of Nursing, working at Gaffney Home and Frisbee Hospital. She moved to Guam in 1967 and worked as an LPN for Navy Hospital, Guam Public Health and Head Start. She attended the University of Guam, to obtain her RN and graduated at 55, as the oldest student ever in the nursing program. She returned to NH, and worked at Dover House and Strafford County Nursing Home as well as a private duty nurse. She is survived by her children Sharra (Ellen) Rasheed, Sacramento, CA and Stefany Thorpe, Lexington, KY (Paul Thorpe). She was predeceased by her son, Chester "Chet" Pearson, and her young children Edward (5 yrs old), Sarah (3 yrs old) and David (6 weeks old). She leaves behind grandchildren, Chama (Rasheed) Freeman, Anwar Ahmed "Daniel" Rasheed, W'oape (Pearson) Nakvasil, and Jacob Hillman and great grandchildren, Je Marre Brown, Tehran Robinson, Anjelique Robinson, Zachery Thorpe, Grant Thorpe, Vanessa Thorpe, Anthony Gibson, Julian Gibson, Lyric Freeman and Isaiah Freeman. She is survived by her sister, Anita June Wilkerson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 2004 and also her brother, John Robert Ford .Extended family also includes James Stephens, Michael Robinson, Quinto and Sandra Brown, Marci Chevian-Hooper, Meredith Eastman, Lupe and Steve Emmonds, Tom Willis and the Chick Family, as well as her church family and life-long friends around the world. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research in honor of her granddaughter W'oape Pearson Nakvasil who is a breast cancer survivor and the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. Virginia was a long time member of Emmanuel Advent Christian Church (Rochester, NH). She loved gardening, animals, traveling, emailing, FaceBooking, crossword puzzles, digital solitaire and long talks with friends about life. She wanted everyone to know she thanks all of them for their love and friendship. Family and friends may visit Friday June 7, 2013 from 2-4 PM at the R. M. Edgerly and Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St. Rochester, NH. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Emmanuel Advent Christian Church on Eastern Ave, in Rochester. Burial will take place in the New Cold Spring Cemetery.
