Rochester, NH- Walter R. Kean, 64, of 22B Charles Street died peacefully Friday May 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Walter was born on October 6, 1948 in Milton, NH the son of the late George Bonney and Marnie Dunkley. Walter had ten brothers and sisters. He attended Milton Mills elementary school and then attended Nute High School. He joined the U.S. Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War from 1970-1972. Walter was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. His rank was SP4. Walter worked at Textron in Farmington; previously Davidson Rubber, Facemate in Somersworth, several shoe factories, RM Foss in Berwick, ME and worked for his brother George Kean. Family and friends who knew Walter enjoyed his laughter, great sense of humor and will remember him with a smile. Walter was most proud of marrying his wife. Walter leaves behind his wife Brenda (Knight) Kean, two daughters, Rebecca Ducharme and Tasha Goff all of Rochester; three granddaughters, Sophie, Cassandra, and Caitie-Mae; and eight siblings. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. A memorial service will be held Thursday June 6, at 6PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. Burial will be held at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at the convenience of the family.
