William E. Arlin

Rochester NH- William E. "Billy" Arlin, 84, of 2 Anita Street died Monday Dec. 27, 2010 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Rochester on Nov. 2, 1926, the son of the late Leslie and Amy "Brown" Arlin. He was a lifelong resident of Rochester having graduated from Spaulding High School, Class of 1944. He worked many years as a shoe cutter at Mayberry Shoe and Colby Footwear. Billy was a former member of the Farmington Golf course where he enjoyed playing golf with his brother Bobby and friends. He attended True Memorial Baptist Church in Rochester. He enjoyed all sports and played in school and in the city leagues of Rochester. He umpired several little leagues and city leagues throughout the city. Billy was very involved with his nieces and nephews. Members of his family include his sister, Ruth Tebbetts of Rochester, nieces, Diane Tebbetts, Debbie Roffo,, Robert Arlin,Jr., Jennifer Montour, and Elizabeth Coggan , several great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew. He was predeceased by brother, Robert Arlin and sister, Elinor Fox. Family and friends may visit Wednesday 6-8PM in the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main Street, Rochester NH. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Rick Lamirande of True Memorial Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Barrington, NH in the spring.
