Rochester NH - William A. Bernard, 63, of Rochester, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, June 5, 2016, after a period of failing health. Born on September 16, 1952 in Beverly, MA, William was the son of the late Frank W. Sr. and Dorothy (Trask) Bernard. William was a 1971 graduate of Claude H. Patten Vocational High School in Beverly, MA. He lived in Rochester for the past 15 years, prior to that he lived in Sanford, ME and Lake Havasu, AZ. William spent more than 30 years as a tool and die machinist. He was an exceptional machinist and enjoyed tinkering around the garage with various projects. He also enjoyed spending time operating remote control vehicles, boats and helicopters; and he was an avid gun collector. William had a fondness for Doberman Pincers, and had a special place in his heart for his dog Britta, who passed away only four weeks ago. Surviving members of his family include his mother, Dorothy Bernard of Rochester; his daughters, Kimberly Page of Scarborough, ME and Andrea Bernard of Westbrook, ME; his grandsons, Devon McGrath and Owen McGrath, both of Sanford, ME; his brother, Frank Bernard Jr. and his wife Eileen, of Rochester; his niece, Deborah Bernard and great niece, Hailey Fournier, both of North Berwick, ME.  The family invites you to visitation on Friday, June 10, 2016, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St, Rochester NH 03867Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 11:00, at North Beverly Cemetery, 685 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
