Farmington - William E Gray, 84, passed away Friday December 21, 2012 at his home following a period of failing health. Born July 30, 1928 in Farmington, NH he was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Green) Gray. Bill was a sheet metal worker for many years for Great Falls Products. He was a member of the Rochester Elks Lodge 1393. He loved woodworking and spent many years making furniture, toys, clocks and even beautiful oversized watches that he donated to the Elks to be raffled. During the past year he developed a passion for restoring antique Hit-and-Miss engines. Saturday nights were reserved for singing karaoke at the Elks with the many friends he had made there. During his retirement years Bill and wife, Dot wintered in Zephyrhills Fl. The summers were spent with their children and grandchildren at camp on the island at Baxter Lake in Farmington. They also spent many hours poking around old buildings in search of antique bottles. In 2007, they sold their home in Florida and moved back home to be near their children. Members of his family include his children Lawrence Gray and partner Lynne Bushway of Shapleigh, ME; Kenneth Gray and wife Sharon of Madbury, Richard Gray and wife Lainy of Gonic, Harold Gray and wife Beaddie of Lebanon, ME; Larraine Carpenter of Corinna, ME; Franklin Condon and wife Kathy of Farmington, Wayne Condon and wife Mary Lynn of Lebanon, ME, daughter-in-law Rose Polichak of Corinna, ME, brother Ernest Gray and wife Maria of Pownal, ME, 24 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years Dorothy Gray, son Carl Gray, JR, sister Marjorie Gray and brother Stanley Gray. There will be no calling hours or funeral service In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone VNA Home Health Hospice, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester NH 03867 A graveside service will be held at the Kimball Cemetery, Meaderboro Road, Rochester NH in the spring.
