Barrington - William Coyne, Sr. 86, passed away Saturday January 5, 2013 at the Manchester VA Medical Center following a period of failing health. Born March 30, 1926 in Cambridge, MA he was the son of the late William and Catherine (Hogan) Coyne. Mr. Coyne served in the US Navy during WWII on board the USS Carmick which was one of only a few destroyers that was outfitted and reclassified as a Naval minesweeper. He later worked for many years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a life member of the DAV and a member of the American Legion Post 7. He loved playing country music and was a well known musician in the area. Members of his family include his children William Coyne, Jr. of Farmignton, NH; Sean Elliott and wife Gina of Barrington, NH; Brian Elliott and wife Madeline of Sanbornville, NH; and Michael Elliott and wife Barbara of Barnstead, NH; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, his sister Claire Bickerstaffe of FL; nieces and nephews.
