BOW LAKE/STRAFFORD - William "Bill" P. Williams, 98, of 111 Water St., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at the Colonial Hill Nursing Home in Rochester.Born Oct. 28, 1910, in Somerville, Mass., he was the son of the late Herbert and Florence (Balser) Williams.Bill has lived in Strafford since 1954 after moving from Massachusetts. He was employed as a salesman for the Berry Paper Co. in Canton, Mass., until his retirement. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion, and a past president of the Bow Lake Camp Owner's Association. He enjoyed taking pictures, watching the Red Sox and reading. He was very proud of the fact that his great-grandfather was a master mariner.Members of his family include his wife, Dorothy (Kelly) Williams; his stepchildren, Jacqueline Kelly of Strafford and Peter Mangelinks of Charleston, S.C. He is predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Sargent.
