Yuri
Smith
May 5, 1932 – April 7, 2026
Yuri Smith, of the Town of Milton, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old. The daughter of Josei Kuwae and Matsuru Kuwae, and the sister of nine lively and dynamic siblings. She was born on June 5, 1932, in Itoman-Cho, Okinawa.
Yuri worked on Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, where she met the love of her life, her husband, Allan. Together they raised four children and lived a life others could only strive for. They lived in Okinawa, California, Maine, and finally settled in New Hampshire.
Yuri had an infectious laugh and smile nobody will forget. She enjoyed the simple things in life—gardening, fishing, camping, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her beloved husband and family.
Survivors include three children: a son, George Smith and Sharon Smith of Rome, NY; two daughters, Carol Boyer of Milton, NH, and Brenda Ruhe and Jerry Ruhe of Mystic, CT; grandchildren Amy Lasack, Jennifer Culley, Tina Kimbrell, Tom Powers, Justin Powers, Jason Smith, Chad Smith, Melissa Smith, Steffanie Carter, and Avery Ruhe; as well as 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Susan Kimbrell; sons-in-law, Dave Kimbrell and Paul Boyer; and her brother-in-law, Gary.
Most importantly, she is reunited with her husband, Allan Smith.
There will be no funeral services.
